Welcome to the official page of the Fairhaven Zoning Board of Appeals (ZBA). The ZBA plays a key role in helping guide responsible growth and development in our community, while ensuring that land use decisions are fair, balanced, and in accordance with local zoning bylaws.
The Zoning Board of Appeals is a quasi-judicial body that hears and decides on matters such as variances, special permits, and appeals related to the enforcement of zoning regulations. Property owners and developers may seek relief from certain zoning requirements, and the ZBA carefully reviews each case to determine if the request meets legal and community standards.
The Board’s goal is to uphold the integrity of Fairhaven’s zoning laws while remaining flexible when unique circumstances arise. We work to preserve the character of our neighborhoods, promote thoughtful development, and protect the rights of property owners.
We welcome public participation in our meetings and encourage residents to stay informed about zoning issues that may impact their neighborhood and the town as a whole.
