Recreation Department

To empower and inspire our community through diverse and accessible recreational programs, facilities, and services, fostering a vibrant, healthy, and inclusive environment where residents can thrive, connect, and create lasting memories.

Goals:

  • Provide Recreational Opportunities: Offer a wide range of recreational activities and programs for individuals of all ages, abilities, and interests, including sports leagues, fitness classes, arts and crafts workshops, and outdoor adventures.
  • Promote Physical and Mental Well-being: Encourage residents to lead active and healthy lifestyles by providing opportunities for physical activity, exercise, and leisure pursuits.
    Support mental health and well-being through recreational activities that promote relaxation, stress reduction, and social connection.
  • Foster Community Engagement: Create opportunities for residents to connect with one another, build relationships, and strengthen community ties through recreational programs, events, and volunteer opportunities.
    Collaborate with local organizations, schools, businesses, and community groups to maximize resources and reach a broader audience.
  • Enhance Quality of Life: Improve the overall quality of life for residents by providing access to high-quality recreational facilities, parks, trails, and green spaces that contribute to a vibrant and healthy community.
    Address the diverse needs and interests of the community by regularly assessing and adapting recreational programs and services to meet changing demographics and preferences.
  • Ensure Accessibility and Inclusivity: Promote accessibility and inclusivity by removing barriers to participation and accommodating individuals with disabilities, diverse cultural backgrounds, and varying socioeconomic statuses.
    Provide equitable access to recreational facilities, programs, and services for all residents, regardless of age, ability, income, or background.
  • Support Environmental Stewardship:  Educate residents about the importance of conservation and responsible outdoor recreation practices to protect the environment for future generations.
