Alyssa Botelho is honored to step into the role of Community Development Coordinator for the Town of Fairhaven. Many may recognize Alyssa from her eight years with Fairhaven TV, where she showcased the town’s unique character through creative media on both local and international stages. From Fairhaven High’s media program to film sets across New England and inspiring retreats abroad, Alyssa has pursued a lifelong passion for storytelling, particularly in historical fiction, while cultivating a strong work ethic that drives her to bring ideas to life. Along the way, she has developed the interpersonal and technical skills necessary to tackle challenges with enthusiasm and to create meaningful opportunities for others.
Quoting Mark Twain, who once wrote to his daughter Clara in July 1906, “I never had a delightfuler holiday in my life and I did hate to leave Fairhaven,” Alyssa believes this sentiment holds true today. As someone dedicated to preserving and sharing the charm of Fairhaven, she is committed to building on the legacy of former tourism director Chris Richard, whose 27 years of dedicated service left a lasting impact on the community.
With a background in film and business, a love for history, and a genuine passion for bringing people together, Alyssa is excited to bring new ideas to help Fairhaven thrive. Her goals are to engage fresh voices, foster connections, and continue to make Fairhaven a place everyone is proud to call home—for today and for generations to come.
