Fairhaven ADA Transition Plan

Fairhaven ADA Transition Plan
Prepared by the Institute for Human Centered Design (IHCD)

The Town of Fairhaven is proud to share its Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA) Transition Plan, developed in collaboration with the Institute for Human Centered Design (IHCD). This plan reflects Fairhaven’s ongoing commitment to accessibility, equity, and inclusion for all members of the community.

As part of this effort, IHCD conducted a comprehensive evaluation of Town-owned buildings, parks, beaches, schools, and public spaces to identify physical and programmatic barriers to access. The result is a strategic plan that outlines clear steps toward improving accessibility and ensuring compliance with the ADA.

This website serves as a hub for the ADA Transition Plan, offering residents, visitors, and stakeholders access to assessment findings, recommended improvements, and opportunities to stay informed and involved.

Together, we are working toward a more inclusive Fairhaven—where everyone can participate fully in community life.
