Named one of Smithsonian’s Ten Best History Books of 2025\, the book draws on Amore’s decades of experience investigating major art thefts and protecting priceless works of art. \nFor more than 20 years\, Amore has led security efforts at the Isabella Stewart Gardner Museum\, where he continues to work toward the recovery of the thirteen artworks stolen from the museum in 1990.
