FAIRHAVEN ALERT: A State of Emergency is in effect for the Town of Fairhaven. 30+ Inches of snow has fallen.
- TRAVEL BAN - Effective Immediately: Non-essential travel is banned in Bristol, Plymouth, and Barnstable counties.
Please stay off the roads for your safety and for the safety of all emergency personnel who are trying to do their jobsWe urge all residents to refrain from driving to facilitate the efficient clearing of streets by the Board of Public Works. Please be mindful that visibility is reduced, and plow operators may not be able to see pedestrians. There are multiple stranded vehicles, and many side streets remain impassable.
- PARKING BAN is currently in effect and will be strictly enforced 24/7 until at least the weekend.
- POWER UPDATE: EVERSOURCE and their crews are staged and will be working overnight to help restore power.
- CLOSURE of TOWN FACILITIES: All town buildings will be closed on Tuesday Feb 24, with the exception of essential emergency personnel. Additionally, SCHOOLS will be closed on both Tuesday, Feb 24 and Wednesday Feb 25
- EMERGENCY ASSISTANCE: Should you have an emergency, DIAL 911. Residents are asked to shelter in place. If you need assistance with shelter, please contact the Fire Department at 508-994-1428.
SPECIAL NOTE:
- For your safety, please check your generators and your vents for your heaters. Please make sure they are clear of snow to avoid any carbon monoxide.
- If you are able, please check on your neighbors, especially our senior population and disabled population.
-Please remember to shovel sidewalks and fire hydrants. Watch for plows, and any assistance with clearing out storm drains is greatly appreciated.
- RESTORATION TIMELINE: We anticipate that normal conditions within the town may take up to 2-3 days to restore.
- SERVICE DELAYS: Please note that trash and recycling collection will be delayed by TWO days.
