COMING IN APRIL 2010
Bristol County District Attorney Sam Sutter is committed to providing elders with prevention information to combat elder abuse.  District Attorney Sutter and his Elder Abuse Prosecutor, James McKenna, will bring this important prevention message to the Fairhaven Council on Aging on Tuesday, April 27, 2010, at 11:00AM.   District Attorney Sutter will speak about his commitment to prevent and prosecute elder abuse and provide an overview of the District Attorney’s Office.  The many different forms of elder abuse will be discussed – from physical to financial.  Assistant District Attorney McKenna will speak about identity fraud, financial exploitation, and scams.  He will also speak about physical, sexual, and psychological abuse.  Elders will learn how to recognize warning signs of abuse, how to report abuse, how cases are prosecuted, tips to prevent abuse, and victim rights.  

This event is free.  Registration is encouraged and can be made by contacting the Fairhaven Council on Aging at (508) 979-4029.
