Congratulations to Deborah Jenkins Director of the Fairhaven Council on Aging for achieving certification as a Council on Aging Director from the Massachusetts Association of Councils on Aging. Ms Jenkins was just one of two directors to complete the certification process this year. This is the seventh year the MCOA has awarded certification to COA Directors in order to promote professionalism in their chosen field and to encourage excellence. Of the 348 Council on Aging Centers in Massachusetts, there are only 37 Certified Directors. Certification is a way in which the public and colleagues can identify COA Directors who meet the high professional standards set by the MCOA. Ms Jenkins, who has been with the Fairhaven COA for the past six years, has met all these professional standards and excellence
to be awarded this certification by the MCOA.
